Sorted Out® vs.
Neat Method

We are both Professional Organizers, but we’re biased and think Sorted Out® is top notch!

Best Choice for Professional Organizing

Were Not a One and Done Service

Compared to Sorted Out®, Neat Method is a “one and done” service. They charge by project and then consider the work complete. At Sorted Out® we offer continued care. We charge based on the time required for all spaces needing assistance as opposed to a “one size fits all” project fee. We understand that working continuously with clients to develop new organizational habits and processes is more important than simply purchasing all new organizational storage and calling it a success. When purchasing a product, we also work with client’s budgets because we know that not all budgets are the same. We recommend products and shopping in stores based on what works best for the client’s dollar, NOT based on retail partners we have contracts with.

We are Certified Professional Organizers

As we looked further into Neat Method we also noticed that the organizers themselves differ drastically from Sorted Out®’s professionals. We read in their organizer bios that they have incredible degrees in areas such as Fashion, Apparel Merchandising, English, Public Health Research, and Education…but no certifications through the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD) were mentioned. They also didn’t list any individual memberships in the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). Of course, this doesn’t mean that some of their organizers don’t have certifications, but it would be reassuring as a client to know your organizers were ICD certified. At Sorted Out®, we can proudly say that everyone on our team has their Level I Certificate of Study in ADHD, along with their Level I Certificate of Study in Chronic Disorganization. In addition, we have several organizers with certifications in Time Management, organizers that specialize in Life Transitions, and Hoarding Behavior certified organizers. We take pride in the fact that, unlike Neat Method, we pair our clients with one organizer (when possible) to work with them in their home. We have a large team of organizers but offer a more personal service by ensuring clients work with an organizer with certifications and expertise that best aligns with their needs.

We Offer Full Services

At Sorted Out®, we offer Home, Business, Luxury Home, and Specialty Organizing services. Then, between those four categories we offer almost 20 individualized services (including decluttering, virtual coaching, moving & relocation, interior design consultation, seniors and assisted living, ADHD organization, etc.)

Neat Method lists their services as “Home Organizing”, “Moves & Relocations”, and “Virtual Organizing”. That’s it! At Sorted Out®, we offer Home, Business, Luxury Home, and Specialty Organizing services. Then, between those four categories we offer almost 20 individualized services (including decluttering, virtual coaching, productivity workshops, moving & relocation, interior design consultation, seniors and assisted living, ADHD organization, etc.) No job is too big or small for our certified team, and no amount of clutter is too large. We take on all levels of clutter, including all levels of hoarding behavior, which makes Sorted Out® noticeably distinct from other companies.

The Bottom Line

Hiring a professional organizer is about more than purchasing new canisters with matching labels for your pantry. It’s about more than color coding your child’s books on the shelf or having all their games in perfectly curated storage bins. If looking to hire a professional organizer you want to ensure you’re hiring a company that will not simply “cover” the clutter. Seek out a company that will truly listen to your needs and work one-on-one with you to develop new systems to implement in your home. Find a company with certified Productivity experts that can suggest behavior/routine adjustments that will make a daily difference without “necessary” new products to be purchased. Do the research and hire a company that can back up their pretty curated website with industry educated and long trusted professionals.

Ashley was an essential part of our move and we couldn’t have done it without her help. My parents moved from a house they’d been in 38 years and needed to downsize. I don’t think we could have done it without her, I am so thankful to have found Sorted Out. The whole team made what could have been a stressful situation easy.

Laura Morgan from Sorted Out, Raleigh, NC, was fantastic. Really. I didn't know it was possible, but I decided to give it a try.. It was worth every penny! I highly recommended this service. Truly my living space is transformed from VERY messy and disorganized to neat, tidy and downright serene and pleasant. I love it!! Laura also dealt with everything in the house, from pets to a preschooler, with kindness and skill. It was impressive! Both efficiency and kindness! in one person. A real perk also was the fact that she carried away, in her car, bags of 🗑 trash to the dump, donations to the Thrift shop, etc. REALLY helpful! I didn't have to do any hauling at all! We love SORTED OUT in this family. They really know their stuff and how to get rid of it too! I'm having Sorted Out come back to do my filing cabinets, the final frontier haha, early in 2024...all my family archival papers and photos, now stuffed into two filing cabinets, largely not sorted. When I'm gone someday I want my family to be able to find things, alphabetically! My daughter, Victoria, also will hire Sorted Out after the first of the year. Perfect New Year's gift to her family! and herself.... Forever grateful Laura! 😊 Cordially, Gail Carson Durham, NC

My husband and I moved to our new home about 5 months after getting married. We’re super busy with work and didn’t have a chance to organize/purge before packing up the old house, so we knew we needed to get some help. After checking with a few different options, we landed on Sorted Out and were very pleased with them! They were very responsive anytime I reached out with questions, etc. I also like that they acknowledge the role that mental health plays in large projects like getting organized. Majority if not all of their organizers have certifications on working with clients with ADHD - which is amazing. We enjoyed working with Ashley and would recommend working with her! She handled our home with care, gathered products for me and handled the work at our home while we continued our busy lives at our jobs. This is one of those “luxuries” that is a game changer. I would recommend them to anyone who needs help getting organized.

Some things I would like to highlight to someone considering hiring Sorted Out: 1) I never once felt shamed by Julie about the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of my space. I grew up in a hoarder home so my place still had artifacts of that upbringing. 2) It was not as expensive as I thought it was going to be. We paid for the 20 hr package upfront, and while it was certainly an investment, we could afford it as a dual income no kids household in our mid 20s. 3) Julie never asked us to buy anything else as a precursor to working in the space. She worked entirely in the confines of the organizational bins and baskets we already had. We did end up buying a few storage/organizational items, but not because she asked us to. 4) The sessions are exhausting in a good “hard day’s work” kind of way. I took off of work for the days that Julie came and that was helpful for protecting my own mental health. 5) My husband and I both have ADHD and everything we organized accommodated our needs. 6) She takes care of all of the donations /recycling so you don’t have to. All in all, I have nothing but positive things to say about Julie and Sorted Out. I never thought my space could be beautiful and functional at the same time, but Julie helped us get there. I am so so so grateful for her work.

I struggle with ADHD and end up creating messes in my living environments that end up overwhelming me. I enlisted the services of Sarah Hull from Sorted Out to help me clear up the mess that my room had become. She was beyond thorough and quickly cleared out all the junk and made a place for everything to go. This has made it much easier to sustain the clean environment she created because I now know where to put everything. She was very friendly and non-judgmental about everything, which was super important to me. Thanks for everything, Sarah!

I just moved cross country and looked to yelp to help find an organizer my new place. From initial contact, they were quick to respond and super professional. I worked with Taletha, who is a master organizer and excellent with her craft. She’s punctual, super sweet and also a life coach. Loved working with her and will hire her again for my next projects!!! 10/10
